On Friday, June 16, join in the Juneteenth Celebration at BlackRock Center for the Arts in Germantown. Juneteenth dates to 1865 and the abolition of slavery in Texas – the last state to do so. Beginning at 6pm, a full program includes the 3rd annual African American Living Legend Awards, presented by County Executive Isiah Leggett, followed by a dramatic portrayal of Harriet Tubman, music and dance, a BBQ dinner, and screening of Hidden Figures.
