Take Me Fishing

Seneca Creek State Park

Join an expert angler for a beginner's course in fishing. The park supplies rods and reels, or you may bring your own. Anyone 16 or older must have a Maryland non-tidal license before coming to the park. Meet at the Boat Center.

UGRR Guided Hike

Pontoon Tours

Take a relaxing 45-minute boat ride on the pontoon boat “Blue Heron.” Learn about history of the area and search for that wildlife that call Clopper Lake home. Tours are at 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. – meet at the Boat House. There is a small fee in addition to the park entrance fee.

Twilight Trek – Underground Railroad Experience

A new evening version of Montgomery Parks' popular guided hikes on the Underground Railroad Experience Trail. "Conductors" provide historical context and explain techniques used to navigate the way North to freedom, including the challenges and opportunities nighttime travel presented. Woodlawn Museum admission included. Participants should bring a flashlight and wear light-colored or reflective clothing.
