Take Me Fishing

Seneca Creek State Park

Join an expert angler for a beginner's course in fishing. The park supplies rods and reels, or you may bring your own. Anyone 16 or older must have a Maryland non-tidal license before coming to the park. Meet at the Boat Center.

Come see the inside of Seneca Creek State Park's 1855 log farmhouse, the last surviving building from the original Germantown settlement. While visiting, try your hand at an old time craft: make a corn husk doll to take home. The cabin is adjacent to the Park Office.

Pontoon Tours

Take a relaxing 45-minute boat ride on the pontoon boat “Blue Heron.” Learn about history of the area and search for that wildlife that call Clopper Lake home. Tours are at 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. – meet at the Boat House. There is a small fee in addition to the park entrance fee.

Parade with Washington Revels

March, sing, and celebrate with Washington Revels in the 52nd annual Kensington Labor Day Parade. Perfect for families and one of the easiest ways to learn what Revels is all about! We will sing, play instruments, hand out flyers, and wave colorful banners and props. Gathering time/location will be announced to registered participants.

This is a chance to get some fresh air and exercise after work. Hike a loop of between 1.5 and 2 miles, with frequent stops for animal sightings, plant, animal and insect observations. Meet at the Park Office.
