Heritage Montgomery has released a new brochure titled “Rivers, Roads & Rails: Transportation in Montgomery County.” The large, fold-out brochure documents the extensive history of transportation within the county, including the Potomac River, the C&O Canal, the B&O Railroad, multiple trolley lines, its Rustic Roads and Scenic Byways, and the various historic sites that preserve transportation history.
“Rivers, Roads, and Rails: Transportation Trails” is one of Heritage Montgomery’s four interpretive themes. The new brochure will enable visitors to explore new and fascinating sites including the Silver Spring B&O Railroad Station, the Kensington B&O Railroad Station, the National Capital Trolley Museum, the C&O Canal National Historical Park, and many other museums, parks, and historic sites.
