Heritage Montgomery Prepares for America’s 250th Anniversary with Exciting Programs and Grant Opportunities

As we approach the 250th anniversary of the United States in 2026, Heritage Montgomery is committed to enhancing our existing programs that showcase the rich history of Montgomery County and the nation from 1776 through 2026. By uniting these stories under a cohesive 250th brand, we aim to amplify their impact and resonance, connecting past and present in a way that honors this milestone anniversary.

We are pleased to share key grant opportunities, planning tools, and resources to support our partners in preparing for this historic celebration. The Maryland Two Fifty Commission offers funding through Citizen Academy Grants, MD Two Fifty Fellows Internship Grants, and Inclusive History Grants. Additionally, various federal and private grants are available for Montgomery County heritage partners. We encourage you to explore these opportunities and utilize the available planning tools to ensure a successful and impactful commemoration of America’s 250th anniversary.
