Edward’s Ferry, a busy canal town dating to the early 1800s, was located at a popular crossing point on the Potomac River of particular significance for troops during the Civil War. Lockhouse 25, built in 1830, interprets the area’s Civil War history. It is open for special events and available to reserve for overnight stays through the C&O Canal Trust’s Canal Quarters program. A site in the C&O Canal National Historical Park.
