Join this C&O Canal Association-sponsored hike to the Stonecutter Mill ruins, then head off trail to visit the quarry where the iconic red Seneca sandstone of the Smithsonian Castle was mined in the 19th century. There are port-a-johns located in the parking lot at the end of Riley’s Lock Road, where the group will meet. There will be thorns in the off-trail portion of the hike – dress accordingly.
