Celebrate the Winter Solstice, the shortest day of the year, with an afternoon hike. Starting today, the days will begin to get longer. That’s a reason to rejoice! There are birds, deer, squirrels, and other wildlife active all winter. Let’s see which animals we can see, and maybe find some of the native orchids that produce leaves only in the winter. Remember to dress in layers, wear comfortable, warm shoes and bring bottled water.
